| When I met Fenders father in Belgium in 2002 I
knew I just had to have something from that dog in my breeding
program, he was an extremely typey dog that had the look I
dreamed about. Thankfully I was in luck because on the
same trip I met with Karla of the Rijkenspark kennel in the
Netherlands and later learned she planned to use Xas for one of
her up coming litters. When Fenders breeder Karla sent me
photo's of his litter I was supposed to be looking for a female.
Fender at just 5 weeks of age or so, just screamed QUALITY out
to me and I could not take my eyes off him.
Karla would not part with him understandably so and luckily I
was almost as equally impressed with his sister Nienna and it
was agreed that she would come to us once she had passed the
quarantine requirements for entry into Australia.
To cut a long story short, after an extremely successful
showing campaign in Europe, Emma Copp and myself found ourselves
in the lucky position to take Fender and the decision was made
without hesitation.
Fender is a most gorgeous Bernese, with a soft and loving
personality and seemingly little testosterone in his body as he
is just so amicable with all dogs and does not have a gruff
moment. He lives with Emma and is spoilt rotten with her
sleeping on the couch / on the bed ..in fact I think he can do
no wrong.
Fender easily attained his Australian Championship and in my
opinion is a dog of lovely substance and offers a most correct
structure that is not easy to attain and maintain in the breed.
Fender has so far sired 4 litters and we have been very
impressed with the structure, type and temperaments he has given
his puppies.
Many thanks to Karla for allowing us to own and experience
such a beautiful Bernese Mountain Dog in every sense of the
word.
